Hypnosis is not an induced state. It is perfectly natural phenomena which each of us can experience. It is a state that lies between us being awake and asleep.

Hence there is not a particular group that is capable of achieving hypnotic state. All of us can experience it. What differs is the amount of benefit we derive from it. Also, the capability of achieving it willfully differs from individual to individual.

Each of us has different levels of susceptibility. This is the factor which determines the depth of hypnosis state that we can achieve. Also achieving hypnotic state at will also depends on this factor. Some people who are more suggestible can go deep into meditation at will and for longer periods of time.

Having said that, I do agree with the experts who say that benefit doesn’t depend on the above mentioned factors. In other words all of us can derive some benefit out of hypnosis. The benefit we derive also depends on our personality and other individual characteristics. But apart from these the factors that rule the benefit one can derive from hypnosis is the motivation you have and the commitment you are ready to show.

People who visit their hypnotherapist or listen to recordings on a regular basis are likely to benefit more. The more you are motivated to use self hypnosis the more benefit you derive. Hypnosis is not a magic spell that can be easily cast on anyone. It requires one to be highly motivated and committed if you want to bring in the desired changes. This is true not only with hypnosis but any therapy that you use.

The key is your attitude. If you are against hypnosis you will certainly not derive any benefit. If you are concentrating too much on the results instead of enjoying the benefits you will be wasting time and efforts again. You will be hung with hurdles which will slow your progress and also influence negatively the amount of benefit that you can truly derive from hypnosis.

Hence the best strategy for one to enjoy the benefits of self hypnosis is to let go, relax and enjoy the results. Don’t oppose anything. Let things take a natural course. The more conscious efforts you put in the less the benefits will come naturally to you.

I have been a hypnotherapist for quite sometime now and it this with experience that I say that each one us can benefit from self hypnosis. The degree of benefit definitely will depend on how open one is and how much commitment one shows. Hence, your attitude is the key drive for you to derive the highest degree of benefit from hypnosis.
