Hello everybody,
Health wise, I can't recommend yoga enough!!!!
I'm doing ashtanga yoga and it's incredible. I usually do it every second days and sometimes everyday.
I found out about it in a yoga "school" where they did "yoga in a hot room". It is AMAZING, it's like yoga in a sauna.
The befenits for health are WAY BEYOND my expectations!
Try it!

| I agree, Yoga has been incredible for me, too. Can't recommend it enough either. There have been periods where I haven't been practising, mostly due to lazyness, but every time I start again, I feel so spiritualized and energetic, it's really amazing. There are also a few studies already that clearly prove the effectiveness of Yoga. |

| I would really like to seriously try yoga... is it possible to do it on your own in a book or dvd? Or is it recommended to seek out a teacher? |

It's definitely recommended to seek out a teacher, at least to get the basics, because there are also risks involved with certain postures when done wrong.

There are plenty of places that will offer yoga classes for a good rate. That way you will have an instructor to correct/adjust you. Most clubs have class schedules, like the YMCA. Plus there are loads of small studios that do yoga for $8-$20 a time.
I would recommend being careful with the hot yoga. It is a good workout, but there are dangers. The heat is raised in this form of yoga so that your muscles will loosen more and you can get deeper into the pose. I would strongly advise you to spend a month doing regular yoga to get your body used to it and for you to learn your limitations. _________________ In good health,

Oh, one more thing. There are other classes that use some yoga and other disciplines that you may enjoy too. For example, there is a class called BodyFlow, which is a coreographed, instructor led (you don't have to learn the moves) which combines yoga, Ti Chi, and Pilates to music. It is very relaxing and also invigorating. The people that try it keep going back. _________________ In good health,

Yoga is very relaxing and it helps us in releasing a lot of stress and negative energy in our body. I also enjoy doing yoga and it really does the body good in balance.
