| Does anyone have ideas about what causes the attraction between subatomic particles? Magnetism is understandable because a flow of force out one pole and into the other. But if a subatomic particle is the smallest piece of matter, it can't be giving up any smaller particles. |

| waves of sound, resonating particles cluster together. If you scatter iron fillings on to a surface, then set a sound frquency, the fillings group together in pattens. this pattern changes to the frequency. the universe is held together by sound, so am i n u, if a paritcular frequency was directed through you, and was strong enough your structure would seize to exist. |

| Gravity could be holding it together, seeing as how that particle has mass like everything or almost everything in the universe. Watch the science channel, quite interesting. |

Woo.. lets make it both.. Thought is holding our universe together.. Ideas and Perception form matter into existence..
Understanding this truth is the first step to understanding the universe around us as a whole..
We narrowly percieve our universe to be bound by subatomic particles, however these subatomic particles do not exist without that belief.
These kind of ideas form much of the basis for fuzzy logic in quantum mechanics, not just metaphysics.
In fact, quantum relationships regarding thought and how it affects matter are already under study. Here's a link to some information regarding how water molecules are visibly affected by ideas and emotion.. Read the part about untreated, distilled water crystals affected in the last set of pictures.

@ Ikaaruz,
That is a very interesting concept, I have just been thinking about the water that I used to drink at my uncles farm.
This was a natural spring well and the water was so beautiful to drink.
Maybe there is some relevance here to how society has warped over the last thirty to forty years. If we are continually drinking recycled water (supposedly clean) could this be a destructive force within the individual?
If this is so maybe this could be an explanation for the lack of true spirituality within the world and the increase of people being drawn to satanism and majic etc. _________________ Many Thanks

Well, 'true spirituality' is a matter of your point of view isn't it?
I'm sure many Satanists would claim they were very spiritual people.
Has the concept been entirely appropriated by established religions or is there room for other interpretations of 'spirituality'?
Perhaps quantum physicists would claim 'true spirituality', since they are exploring the inner-workings of reality (as we know it today) and therefore delving closer and closer to the forces of creation - whatever they may be.
What is spirituality? Is it merely the repetition of religious ritual (as some 'holymen' would have you believe) or a removal of desire from oneself, is it the service of a greater being and/or the greater good?
Perhaps, if a God gave us life, our purpose is simply to live, remember the old idea that we are the universe trying to experience itself (is that Buddhist?)?
Or maybe we are just an accidental combination of elements adrift and alone in the universe?
Blimey! This is getting too deep, I'm off for a cup of tea (I'll speak to the water nicely before boiling it). |

| Obviously. There is simply not enough brainpower to even cope with understanding the entire universe and all its information. |

| electromagnetic attractions hold electrons to the nucleus (because the nucleus has + charge, and the electrons have - charge). in the nucleus, it is much more complex because you have an extremely dense sphere of positive and neutral particles, and the + charge should make the whole thing repel and not stay together. all nuclei have converted some amount of matter to energy via E=mc^2, and this is part of what holds them together. The "strong force" acts at very close range within the nucleus and is the strongest force known-- it overpowers the electrostatic repulsion to create the dense positive nucleus. |

i thought protons and neutrons could be further subdivided into smaller particles. if i remember stephen hawking says something about it in a brief history of time...but im pretty sketchy on the details |
